Role Summary:

CHC Helicopters has a current opportunity for a dynamic individual to take on the role as Manager Flight Standards (MFS) APAC based in our head office in West Perth, Western Australia. This is a full time Management position with approximately 50% flying, either on the line or conducting checks, with a key focus on driving CHC company standards. The MFS will report to the Manager Flight Operations (MFO/Chief Pilot) APAC to ensure all flight operations are conducted in a safe, efficient and professional manner in accordance with Company manuals and policies. You will be responsible for all CHC Flight Operations in Australia including bases outside Australia if flown on the CHC AUS AOC.


Key Responsibilities:

· Working closely with the MFO to provide business leadership and overall management of CHC APAC flight operations · Lead by example and drive results through a disciplined and focused approach to flight operations · Provide assistance to the MFO in liaison with the Regulator to ensure CHC compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations · Actively contribute to department manpower planning and implementation to deliver customer contract requirements · Retain a close customer focus on all flight operations and training matters and support Sales/Commercial team as required with proposals including tender preparation · Maintain a valid line check on a CHC APAC based fleet and fly the line as required · Conduct regular check flights to ensure CHC harmonized in flight operations, training standards and procedures within the business unit. · Drive excellence through performance management assessment of pilots and other assigned staff · Provide input and assessments for the selection of pilots hired and other internal appointments and promotion - including to Command · Work in collaboration with Safety and Quality team with Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and flight compliance programs and reviews. · Active contributor to the CHC Flight Standards team on policy development and feedback. · Travel overseas and interstate may be required May be assigned other duties


Qualifications, Skills & Attributes


Essential:

· Must be IOGP compliant for Captain · Excellent knowledge of CHC policies and procedures as well as local aviation legislation and standards · Minimum Australian ATPL (H) with command instrument rating · Previous experience as an offshore and/or SAR pilot, preferably rated on multiple types presently operated by CHC Australia. · Current or previous experience as an instructor or examiner Desirable:

· Instructor and/or examiner rating on one or more of CHC AUS active types will be an advantage · Proven leadership experience and results at middle management level in flight operations or flight training · Meet the requirements for CASA Head of Flying Operations in CAO 82.0 Skills and Attributes:

· Effective leadership and management skills with the ability to mentor and drive a high performing team · Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to influence internal stakeholders and external bodies recognising cultural, legal and regional diversity · Highly effective problem solving and decision making abilities · Strong communication, planning and organisational skills with an ability to produce results · Able to handle themselves and perform their assigned duties in stressful & critical situations
