Heliworks Queenstown and Heli Glenorchy are locally owned and operated, specialising in premium tourism and commercial helicopter operations across the Southern Lakes and Fiordland regions. From alpine landings and heli-skiing to precision long line and fire operations, we operate at the highest professional standard while delivering unforgettable experiences to clients from around the globe.
We are currently inviting applications from experienced helicopter pilots to join our team at either our Queenstown. This is a full-time, year-round position rostered 5 day work weeks.
We are looking for more than just flying hours. We are seeking a pilot with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine love for meeting people from around the world. Our pilots are ambassadors for our brand, and the ability to deliver a premium guest experience alongside technical excellence is essential.
The successful applicant will have:
NZ citizenship, residency, or legal right to work in New Zealand
Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak season (Dec–Mar)
Excellent communication and prioritisation skills
Strong teamwork and adaptability
A positive, personable, and professional character
Minimum Requirements
3000+ hours helicopter
Precision long line experience
Firefighting experience
Rated on AS350
Proven mountain flying experience including snow operations
Desirable Attributes
Multi-engine experience (BK117 / H145)
Heli-skiing experience
Queenstown / Milford local knowledge
Instructor rating
Required (or ability to obtain)
Current First Aid Certificate
CAA Dangerous Goods certification
NZ Class 1 Driver’s Licence
NZTA Dangerous Goods endorsement
