We are currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified aviators who are interested in working on a casual basis to assist in delivering the Diploma of Aviation (Flight Instructor) AVI50419 to the next generation of flight instructors. To be successful in this role you will have a background as a pilot and flight instructor, and hold a formal teaching qualification or current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Who are we?

Aviation Australia is a world class Registered Training Organisation servicing domestic and international students. This year we celebrate our 20th anniversary after being established by the Queensland State Government in 2001 to support the development and growth of aviation and aerospace industries. Aviation Australia is also an approved VET Student Loan provider. About the role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager Flight Safety Training, you will be responsible for delivering subjects and courses in the scope of Aviation Australia’s approval as a registered training organisation including Part 141/142 organisation and CASA remote pilot training approval plus additional stand alone courses. You will also participate in course development, reviewing curriculum content and conducting examinations and assessments. Employment will be on a casual basis dependent on when a relevant course is being delivered. Is this role for you?

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A CASA Commercial Pilot Licence or Airline Transport Pilot Licence and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a higher recognised qualification in teaching/training.

  • Experience working as a Commercial Pilot and in Flight Instructor training delivery.

  • A genuine desire to instruct students and assist them as best you can on their journey of learning and development.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation that applies to aviation training.

  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deal with competing demands.

  • Previous experience working in the vocational training sector or in a training/learning development environment is desirable.
