Auriga Aviation has established itself as an industry leader in the provision of specialist Helicopter Marine Pilot Transfer (HMPT) services in Australia. Auriga Aviation operates a modern fleet of Airbus helicopters in the provision of services to the maritime industry and a diverse customer base across multiple locations throughout Australia. Your new role
The successful DHOFO requires both a solid understanding of flight operations technical and administrative matters, along with a strong focus on engaging with our people, driving our culture and being a role model for our flight operations team.
You will closely support, and delegate for, the Head of Flying Operations in leading our team and overseeing the operational and regulatory requirements of our business.
The safe, professional and efficient operations of our fleet of Airbus H125, H135, and H145 aircraft is a key focus. You will be required to participate in or lead projects, as well as supporting routine business such as document management, systems and processes improvement, technology and innovation, people and culture. You will also be required to liaise with our clients, regulatory bodies, suppliers and industry from time to time. It is expected that the DHOFO will maintain flying skills as demanded by the HMPT role by day, night, VFR and IFR, including participation in the company’s recurrent training program.
The DHOFO may also support the Head of Training and Checking (HOTC) in the maintenance of company flight standards and development of training systems. It is advantageous, but not essential, for the DHOFO to have a flight instructional background.
The DHOFO will be an integral part of the Flying Operations leadership team and will actively support and promote company initiatives, objectives and values; working consistently to develop and maintain a highly motivated and engaged workforce.
What we are looking for
A strong desire to lead, engage and motivate people to bring out their best.
Attention to detail, effective planning and organisational skills.
Superior knowledge of relevant aviation rules and procedures.
Multi-engine command experience and multi-engine instrument rating.
Australian Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence (CPL-H) and Class 1 Medical.
Australian resident and able to hold and maintain an ASIC and MSIC.
Ability to regularly travel and work at any Auriga bases within Australia, along with international travel if required.
Desirable: Previous experience in a management or leadership role, ideally within flight operations; experience in HMPT or similar specialist operations.
Desirable: CASA Flight Instructor (FIR) and Flight Examiner (FER) qualifications with IR endorsement
Desirable: Training and/or tertiary qualifications in business, aviation or other relevant disciplines
A great listener with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
An unwavering commitment to safety, professionalism and integrity.
Ability to drive continuous improvement whilst developing collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
