The ACE Training Centre is a world-class aviation and aeromedical training centre centrally located in Australia’s largest city, Sydney. A leading provider of specialised mission-critical helicopter training to the government, resource, and oil & gas sectors. Our integrated team includes pilots, aircrew officers, helicopter engineers, safety managers, human factors trainers, and aviation management specialists.

Located at Bankstown Airport, Sydney, The ACE Training Centre is a purpose-built facility, incorporating state-of-the-art simulation that includes an AW139 Full Flight Level D simulator. It is Australia’s only Leonardo approved training centre and part of the Leonardo global network of Authorised Training Centres.


Job Description

Working closely with the General Manager and the Maintenance Manager, the Chief Ground School Instructor role involves designing, managing, supervising, and delivering all aspects of AW139 technical training delivered at The ACE Training Centre, including but not limited to,

  • Annual engineer maintenance training and the AW139 Pilots’ Type Rating Technical package.

  • Planning, scheduling, developing, and delivering annual technical training for the Toll engineer workforce.

  • Training clients of The ACE Training Centre. On occasions, this will require traveling to conduct remote technical training that would include Australia and NZ and may expand to further locations throughout Asia.

  • Assist in the development of engineering Human Factors training with The ACE Training Centre's Human Factors team.

  • Work occasionally as an AME with the deep maintenance team located onsite.

Qualifications

Technical experience and knowledge required to be considered:

  • A relevant aviation background exceeding 10 years.

  • Motivated and skilled to design and deliver quality technical training as a primary responsibility.

  • Prior experience or significant potential to deliver medium helicopter technical theory for engineers and aircrew.

  • Hold Cert IV Aeroskills (B1.3 or B2) or equivalent (military or overseas).

  • Hold or suitability to complete / upgrade to current version of Cert IV TAE.
