Company Description
Toll Helicopters is a multi-disciplinary operational organisation with large scale government contracts in the EMS/SAR and Defence sectors. Toll Helicopters provides extensive training services across its existing contracts and from its world class Aeromedical Crewing Excellence Training Centre (ACE-TC) based in Sydney Australia.
The ACE-TC is the hub of Toll’s training, delivering domestic training under CASR Part 141/142 and domestic and international training as the only Leonardo Authorised Training Centre for the region. The ACE-TC employs training aids such as a Level D dual EASA and CASA certified AW139 Full Flight Simulator, a Sea Survival Training Centre with a METS30 HUET trainer, and a virtual reality based AW139 Full Crew Trainer.
Toll Helicopters is looking for a Head of Training and Checking (HOTAC) to manage our training system.
Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Flying Operations, you will be responsible for regulatory oversight, the design and management of all aspects of training, and the standardisation of instructional staff. Accountabilities include management of the Part 133/138 Training and Checking Organisation and Head of Operations for Part 141 and 142 training activities.
You will have experience in Multi-Engine Helicopter flight training, including under the IFR and NVIS. You should hold current Flight Instructor and Flight Examiner Ratings, and have AW139 and Bell 412 type qualifications. Ideally you will have experience in EMS, SAR, Law Enforcement and Defence operations. You will have extensive previous experience within Training and Checking, and/or Flight Training Organisations.
Qualifications
ATPL(H), Flight Instructor Rating, Flight Examiner Rating, NVIS Rating, Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
Minimum hours - 2500 Total, 2000 PIC Helicopter, 1500 PIC Turbine, 500 PIC Multi-Engine, 250 NVIS, and 500 Instructor
Extensive background in Multi-Engine Helicopter training and checking, including on AW139 and Bell 412
Extensive background in training development and management, with excellent CRM and training delivery skills
High level knowledge of civil aviation legislation
Expert communication, written, reasoning and critical thinking skills
Proven management experience, including the ability to coordinate diverse range of personnel and assets
Must have balanced operational, technical and commercial skill sets
Experience in EMS, SAR, Law Enforcement and / or Defence operations an advantage
