HNZ has established itself as a premier helicopter transport provider in operations within Australia, New Zealand and throughout Asia, and is an expanding component of the PHI Group of companies.
Due to departmental growth we are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified pilots for the role of Chief Pilot (International). This role is vital for the management of NZCAA Regulatory processes, together with the coordination of safe, efficient flight operations across jurisdictions.
Based at our Head Office in Nelson, New Zealand and reporting to the Director of Flight Operations, the Chief Pilot (International) will:
be the post holder of Senior Person for Flight and Ground Operations under the NZ AOC
assist with international contract implementation
maintain the Operations suite of manuals
ensure compliance through procedures and inform crew of changes to regulations and standards
manage the recruitment and selection of flight crew where appropriate
develop SOP’s
act as deputy to the Director of Flight Operations in his absence
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in offshore operations with multi-engine IFR helicopters and possess operational management, leadership and supervisory experience with the following minimum qualifications:
ICAO ATPL with ratings on AW139 or S92 aircraft
5000 hours on helicopters
significant multi-engine and multi-crew command experience
instructor rating or prior check and training experience is preferred

The Chief Pilot (International) will also be required to travel domestically and internationally for work purposes from time-to-time; and is required to reside in the Nelson, Tasman region. Assistance with relocation will be considered for the right candidate.
