About the role:

Toll Helicopters has a position available within our Head Office as the Deputy Head of Flying Operations. This is an exciting opportunity for you to play an integral role in our specialist helicopter business providing safe, reliable, mission-critical services.

Reporting to the Chief Pilot, the Deputy Head of Flying Operations is responsible for the effective management of aviation operations. The Deputy Head of Flying Operations assists the Chief Pilot in ensuring that the operator remains compliant in all respects and provides all equipment, facilities and documentation required under the regulations for a safe operation. The Deputy Head of Flying Operations will assist the Chief Pilot in monitoring operational standards and training.

The Deputy Head of Flying Operations is responsible for the management of Company aircrew, including operational and administrative needs such as rostering, leave, pay, performance reporting and discipline.

The Deputy Head of Flying Operations fulfils the roles of Helicopter Flight Data Monitoring (HFDM) Program Manager, Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Administrator, and Operations Analyst.

This position includes operational flying duties.

Requirements:

  • Proven management experience, with extensive background in helicopter flight operations

  • Proven knowledge of Aviation Legislation and CASA regulations and standards

  • CASA Air Transport Pilots License (Helicopter)

  • 2500 hours rotary wing flight experience

  • 1500 PIC turbine rotary wing

  • 500 hours PIC multi engine turbine rotary wing

  • Minimum 12 months and 100hrs PIC in EMS/SAR operations

  • NVG Endorsement with minimum 50hrs PIC NVG

  • Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating with minimum 3 renewals

  • CASA Class 1 Medical

  • Comprehensive night, winch and IFR experience

  • Highly desirable:

  • Experience in managing EFB

  • Experience in managing HFDM programs

  • Experience in conducting data based operational analysis

  • AW139 Type Endorsement with 100hrs PIC on type

  • B412 Type Endorsement with 100hrs PIC on type

  • EMS/SAR experience on AW139/B412

  • Offshore experience
