The Heliwest Group is the holding company for a group of associated entities that together control the resources necessary for them to deliver ‘state of the art’ aviation and engineering services to its clients. Since 1992 Heliwest has grown into one of Australasia’s leading helicopter companies and is now the largest onshore helicopter operator in Western Australia.

Heliwest offers a broad range of helicopter services to a variety of industries including Oil & Gas, Mining and government. Tasking conducted includes remote area surveys, EMS, offshore, sling work, power-lines, pipelines, fires and flight training.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with demonstrated leadership and management experience for the role of Chief Pilot to provide strong safety and compliance leadership and to drive a culture of continual improvement.

The job will be based at our headquarters in Jandakot, however some travel to our other Australian bases will be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2,000 (H) hours total helicopter experience, of which at least 1000 hours must be Pilot in Command (PIC)

• 500 hours Multi-Engine (H) Command

• Hold an Instrument Rating (Helicopter) with at least 3 Command Instrument Proficiency Checks (IPC’s) or military equivalent

• Sling experience

• Low level flying experience

• Minimum 12 months experience in commercial operations

Desirable Qualifications:

• Training & checking experience (ME-H)

• Flight Examiner Rating with any of:

Low Level Flight Test (LL), Instrument Rating Flight Test (IR), Night VFR Flight Test (NVFR), Flight Instructor Rating Flight Test (FIR); and

• Night Vision Imaging System Flight Test (NVIS) endorsements

• FIR with BK117 or BO105 type rating training endorsement

• BK117/BO105 type rating (100 + hours)

• FIR (Grade I or II)

• ATPL

• AS350, B206, R44, R22 experience

• NVIS

• HUET

• Aerial Agricultural operational experience

• Powerline experience

• Previous experience as a Chief Pilot

• Dangerous Goods Awareness Training
