S76 IFR HEMS Co-Pilot-New Zealand

We are seeking an experienced S-76 qualified emergency service Co-Pilot who will be working in a twin-pilot, IFR, HEMS operation engaged in day and night operations. This is a full-time permanent position. The role will be based in Whangarei.

You will be someone with:


Minimum qualifications for our Co-Pilot:

  • CPL (Helicopter)

  • Instrument Rating exam credit

  • 1000 hrs Rotary wing

  • 750 hours PIC

  • Multi Engine Turbine

  • Unrestricted Night rating

Desirable qualifications:

  • Instrument Rating

  • S76A/C++ experience

  • NVG experience

  • HEMS experience

  • Hoist experience

Required Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • IT literate

  • Demonstrate experience of helicopter flight operations within the emergency services or relevant role

  • High level of knowledge of current aviation legislation

  • Experience of emergency service/relevant flight operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out duties as a HEMS Co-Pilot in accordance with CAA requirements and the Northern Rescue exposition.

  • Remain aware of and advise where necessary on operational or legislative factors that affect HEMS operations.

  • Undertake aviation related duties on behalf of Northern Rescue.

  • Regular liaison with colleagues, HEMS crew, engineering and appropriate third parties.

  • Assist with operational and training requirements.

  • Maintain and demonstrate an active interest in the overall activities of NRHL and reflect the organization's vision, mission, and values in all communications with the public.

  • Be prepared to attend occasional promotional or fundraising events either as part of a team or as an individual to support and promote our activities.
