HEMS Line Pilot-NSW (Tamworth)
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organisation providing world class aeromedical, search and rescue services to those in need 24/7. The Service has more than 40 years of proud history and now operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth, Belmont, Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and deep level maintenance facility based in Broadmeadow NSW.
Our Tamworth base, along with our operations in Belmont and Lismore, is central to our mission. We are more than just a service; we are a part of the Tamworth community.
We are currently seeking an experienced Line Pilot to join our highly skilled Tamworth team, conducting helicopter aeromedical and search and rescue operations with the utmost focus on safety and professionalism. This role will report to the Head of Flying Operations and will operate on a 4:4 (2 day/2 night) roster pattern. We expect our successful candidate to be deeply connected to the Tamworth area, living within 1 hour of our base, and willing to travel across our network from time to time in support of operations.
To be considered for this role, you will be an experienced Helicopter Pilot who is well regarded within the industry and will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
Essential:
CASA ATPL (H) & Current Class 1 Medical 2500Hrs Rotary Wing, 2000Hrs PIC Rotary Wing Instrument Rated on multi engine helicopters Low Level Rating with Winch endorsement Helicopter command experience in a variety of operations NVG and IFR
Highly Desirable:
AW139 Type Rating DG, HUET, EBS Previous EMS/SAR experience
To succeed in this role, you should be a dedicated team player committed to safety and the continuous improvement of operational processes and procedures. This position falls under Category A/Category A - High Risk, following NSW Health’s framework for worker assessment, screening, and vaccination to minimize vaccine-preventable disease transmission. Compliance with the Service's policies regarding Occupational Assessment, Screening, and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases, including the provision of evidence of protection, is essential.
You must have the right to work in Australia and be prepared to complete a psychometric assessment, Working with Children Check, and National Police History Check, if successful. Your salary package will be determined in accordance with the Company’s Registered Enterprise Agreement.
