The Company


Helistar Aviation has been providing high quality, safe and reliable aviation services throughout Australia as a member of the Aero-Star Group of aviation companies. Our services include search and rescue, disaster relief, specialised aerial work, tourism, corporate charter and flight training. Bases are in Adelaide & Parafield (SA), Fremantle & Busselton (WA), La Perouse/Cape banks & Moruya (NSW)


We operate a diverse fleet of helicopters to provide aircraft solutions that best fit the needs of our customers. Our fleet includes the BK117C1, AS355, H130, H125, B206 and R44, plus a fleet of piston and turboprop fixed wing aircraft.


The Role


We require a number of pilots for our WA operations in support of the valuable work conducted by Surf Life Saving Western Australia. This is a seasonal position starting late August until the end of April. Overnight accommodation can be provided at the company’s residence at Busselton when rostered to that location. You will be flying everyday patrolling some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia.


To be successful in this role you will possess the following:


  • Right to live and work in Australia

  • CASA CPL H

  • CASA Class 1 Medical

  • Red ASIC

  • 1000 hours minimum helicopters

  • 500 hours helicopter turbine

  • 50 hours minimum on AS350 and or AS355

  • Low Level Rating

  • HUET

  • Dangerous Goods Awareness Course

  • High level of written and verbal communication skills

  • Drivers License

  • Nil accident history within the previous 5 years


Remuneration will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.


Differences training can be provided and those close to, but not meeting certain minimums should still apply, and will be considered based on total experience.
