Position Summary


Aerospace employees have a key responsibility to support the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Aerospace and other Omni employees, to create a professional and productive working environment that is extended to our clients, customers, and stakeholders.


The Helicopter Pilot position is an enabling role to support the Rotary Wing Head of Flying Operations and the Accountable Manager to execute helicopter flying operations across the South of Queensland and across Australia. In addition to flying, Omni helicopter pilots are required to undertake training and administrative work where required. This role is critical in support of the natural resource sector, oil and gas industry, State and Federal Government, and Air Transport operations.



Key Accountabilities


  • - Support the Aerospace Division, in particular the Head of Flying Operations and Accountable Manager in delivering flying services to clients. - Perform pre & post flight tasks such as flight planning, task specialist/passenger briefings, risk assessments and normal post flight administrative tasks. - Conduct flying operations consisting predominantly of aerial work operations such as powerline inspections, pipeline easement aerial inspections, external load operations along with Air Transport operations when required. - Liaise with the Omni maintenance team regarding any aircraft issues. - Actively participate in internal and client meetings. - Support the Operations Branch in any audits requested by clients


Essential Qualifications/Certifications


  • - Helicopter CPL - Minimum 2,000 flying hours. - Minimum 100 hours in B206 series aircraft. - Minimum 100 hours in AS350 series aircraft. - Sling Rating and minimum 10 hours on Sling Operations. - Low Level Rating and minimum 100 hours of Low Level Operations. - Sufficient safety and regulatory knowledge to perform operations in accordance with Omni Operations Manual and Civil Aviation Safety Regulations.


Desirable Qualifications/Education/Training


  • - Aerial Application Rating (Fire H). - Dangerous Goods drivers licence (Or ability to obtain). - MR truck licence (Or ability to obtain). - Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Excel, Word, etc). - Proficiency using Air Maestro, AeroTrack, OzRunways, SpiderTracks, SafetyCulture application. - Ability to maintain Baseline Security Clearance

Salary


And the big one, salary! For now, let's just say it's well above Award!


Summary


So, what does all that mean? We are looking for a motivated individual who wishes to be part of small team of aviation professionals and an organisation with a great culture of support for its people. The vast majority of our flying involves Aerial Work operations in south and south-western Queensland, think pipeline/powerline surveys, feral animal survey ops, geophysical survey ops and occasionally some Air Transport operations. You may also deploy further afield a few times throughout the year, potentially for a couple of weeks at a time.



We currently operate 2 x Bell Longrangers with a B3 Squirrel joining the fleet in late May.
