Helicopter Pilot/Alternate HOFO Required-Queensland

The Helicopter Pilot / Alternate Head of Flying Operations will provide helicopter services consisting of aerial work and air transport operations to a variety of clients and emergency relief across Queensland's Southern region and surrounding areas. ABOUT THE ROLE

The Helicopter Pilot/Alt. HOFO role is responsible for providing aerial work operations to the oil, gas and natural resource sector. These operations consist mainly of aerial inspections for pipeline easements, gas wells and powerlines across Southern Queensland. Ad-hoc air transport operations will be performed to support emergency services during times of natural disaster, particularly over the summer months. The Pilot/Alt. HOFO role will also conduct administration tasks where required to support Omni’s upkeep of recencies, regulations and audits both internal and at clients’ requests. The role will require travel between Omni’s two hangars with Omni’s Operational Base situated in Roma, Queensland and the Maintenance Hangar located in Caloundra, Queensland. The Helicopter Pilot/Alt. HOFO role is crucial to the Aerospace Division and is part of the Rotary Wing (RW) Operations Branch. This team consists of the HOFO, multiple line pilots and Safety Manager who all report to the RW Accountable Manager. The Operations Team work together to ensure pilot and aircraft availability for all job requirements whether planned or no-notice. Omni’s Aerospace Rotary Wing Branch also consists and liaises with the Rotary Wing Maintenance Team for all aircraft maintenance requirements. OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is someone who has the required qualifications below, with effective negotiation and communication skills to interact with internal Omni personnel and external customers. Candidates must be willing to travel for unspecified periods of time across Australia and is self-motivated with the ability to work independently to a high standard. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Helicopter Pilot/Alt. HOFO will:

  • Hold a Helicopter Commercial Pilots Licence

  • Have minimum 10 years experience in the rotary wing Aviation industry

  • Have minimum 3000 flying hours

  • Have minimum 100hrs in B206 series aircraft

  • Sling Rating

  • Low Level Rating

  • Aerial Application Rating (Fire H)

  • Sufficient safety and regulatory knowledge to perform operations in accordance with Omni’s Operations Manual and Civil Aviation Safety Regulations

  • Proficiency using Air Maestro, AeroTrack, OzRunways, SpiderTracks, iAuditor

It would be desirable if they had:

  • An Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one)

  • Dangerous Good drivers licence (or the ability to obtain)

  • Medium Rigid (MR) truck licence (or the ability to obtain)

  • Experience in the following aircraft types: B206, B206L, AS350, B407

  • Instructor rating (Grade 1 or 2)

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software (Excel, Word, etc)
