About the Role

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Lead Pilot to join our team at The Helicopter Line based near Mount Cook.

The Helicopter Line is New Zealand’s leading helicopter operating company, operating in Mount Cook, Franz Josef, Fox Glacier and Queenstown. Our teams are focused on providing the best guest experience in a safe and enjoyable manner and share a passion for showcasing this stunning landscape to our customers.

Duties will include managing our team of pilots, ensuring the daily running of a smooth operation and providing a high level of customer service to all our clients. You will be responsible for effectively and efficiently carrying out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with all applicable legislation, rules and air operators’ expositions. You will lead by example and be a powerful and highly effective promoter of The Helicopter Line’s safety policy and commitment to Just Culture.

The following experience/ skills are required:

• Strong people management/ Leadership skills

• Great time management.

• Professional attitude.

• Excellent customer service skills

• AS350 experience

• Operations at altitude

• Snow/glacier experience

• Southern Alps MBZ experience

The following qualifications are required:

• NZ CPL (H)

• Class 1 NZ medical certificate

• 2000hrs PIC rotary time
