Head of Standards/Deputy Head of Flight Operations - Australia

We are seeking a self-motivated and proactive individual to fulfil the role of Head of Standards Australia. Reporting to Head of Flight Operations – Australia, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in/be responsible for acting as their Deputy in support of the safe and efficient management of all elements in the Flight Operations Department.

Additionally, the successful applicant will coordinate and manage the standardisation of Flight Operations activities within Australia, through liaison with the international team, to ensure a program of continuous and best practice.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Liaison with the CASA and other Authorities when required

• Supervise flight crews and operations personnel, including the processing and actioning of flight crew performance reports

• Maintain and develop professional standards, qualifications, training programs and policy

• Act as Head of Flight Operations in his absence or alternately undertake a specific regulatory responsibility of the HOFO when so delegated.

• Maintain a quality assurance program for training standards including oversight of the Line Operations Safety Audit program LOSA

• Engage with recognised industry bodies on the development and review of industry Best Practices Coordinating the Company's contribution and interaction with Heli-Offshore

• Assist with Flight Operations auditing of external training providers

• Make recommendations to the Head of Flight Operations and Head of Training for the improvement of Flight Standards and the proactive development of World Best practices and Global Standards.

• Other associated Flight Ops tasks or responsibilities as directed by the HOFO from time to time.

We are seeking applicants with the following experience and qualifications:

• Licence: CASA ATPL (H) with Instrument Rating

• Extensive experience in either Offshore or Marine Pilot Transfer operations

• Type Rating: Type Rated on one of: S92, AW139, A109

• 3000 hours total helicopter time including 1500 hours multi-engine (helicopter)

• 1500 hours command (helicopter)

• 1200 hours multi-crew (helicopter)

• Extensive knowledge of CASA regulatory environment

The following attributes would be an advantage:

• Flight Instructor Rating

• Previous aviation management experience
