About the role
Are you an aviation professional with a passion for safety, operational excellence, and leadership? PHI is seeking a dynamic and safety-focused individual to join our team as Head of Standards – Australia.
This is a unique leadership role that combines strategic oversight with operational flying. You’ll help shape flight standards, drive compliance, and influence best practices across our Australian operations, all while maintaining flying currency and staying connected to flying.

Responsibilities of the role include:
Lead standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives across flight operations.
Maintain flying currency on an aircraft type operated by the company, performing operational/training flying duties as required.
Ensure regulatory compliance and foster strong relationships with CASA.
Oversee safety and quality programs, including FDM, LOSA, and internal audits.
Manage operational documentation and ensure alignment with industry standards.
Support strategic development of best practices in flight operations.
Attend CASA seminars and monitor regulatory changes (CASR).
Represent PHI in industry forums and contribute to global aviation standards.
Administer Web Manuals and ensure documentation accuracy.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
CASA Part 61 CPL(H) or ATPL(H) with Instrument Rating (co-pilots may apply).
Experience in Offshore or Marine Pilot Transfer operations.
Type rating on one or more of the following preferred: H175, AW189, S92.
Strong knowledge of the CASA regulatory environment.
Excellent writing skills.
