About the role
As a Flight Operations Inspector in our Certification- Agricultural and Helicopter team, you will be responsible for carrying out certification activities for organisations seeking to operate in the aviation system, and to ensure they meet the requirements for certification. This includes carrying out assessments to determine requirements against the Civil Aviation Regulations and to evidence certification decisions in a way that supports the CAA's goals and objectives. This role will give you the opportunity to positively influence the continuous improvement in aviation safety performance by engaging and communicating closely with operators. The role will promote safety and operational best practices within the New Zealand aviation system. As such, you will be required to exercise sound judgement and responsibility within an established operating framework.
This is a permanent full-time position for 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday and can be based at Wellington National office in CBD, Auckland Airport or Christchurch Airport.
The salary band for this position goes from $112,171 to $156,711 with a mid-range being $131,259. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role and relativities across the organisation.

Your systems thinking approach combined with your ability to think critically and solve problems will be of benefit in your day-to-day work.
Holds, or has held, Commercial Helicopter Licence or equivalent pilot licence and flight experience in commercial air transport helicopter operations or commercial Agricultural operations is necessary for this role.
Agricultural and/or flight instructor qualifications are highly desirable.
