About the Role:

Fleet Helicopters is currently seeking expressions of interest to fulfill a new and exciting position within our Armidale team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, fast learning professional fixed wing/junior helicopter/tourism pilot for the upcoming summer season – October 2023 to March 2024, with the potential for a full time position for the right candidate.

Fleet Helicopters would like to engage a team orientated and motivated individual with proven experience working autonomously in a similar role. You will be part of a diverse and highly experienced team providing aviation support to Fleet Helicopters government and private operations.

Flexible and willing to travel whilst receiving an attractive renumeration package you will experience a diverse range of operations whilst being an integral part of the Fleet team.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 1500hrs total time

  • 100hrs C182

  • 50hrs fire experience (fixed wing)

  • Low level endorsement

  • Commercial Aeroplane Pilots Licence

  • Commercial Helicopter Pilots Licence

Preferred requirements or willingness to obtain (company provided upskilling available for the right candidate):

  • Twin engine aeroplane endorsement and experience

  • Fixed wing instrument rating and experience

  • Tail wheel Endorsement

  • Bell 206/Bell 206L endorsement and experience

  • HR drivers licence

  • Dangerous goods by road

  • Chemcert

  • Forklift licence

  • Rigging/Dogging certificate

Working closely with the Operations Manager, your duties will include:

  • Providing professional fixed wing aviation services for government operations including but not limited to air attack/air observation platforms/ powerline inspections

  • Clientele and company crew transfers

  • Conduct weekday and weekend (when required) fixed wing/helicopter joy flight/sightseeing tours

  • Flexibility within the team environment, assisting co-workers during high workloads and or new system implementation

  • Provide and participate in crew and operational support roles such as bombardier, navigator and fuel support when required
