About the Role
We are excited to recruit a HEMS Captain to work in the iconic Cooper Basin. You will operate in a challenging environment based at Moomba in a EC135 P2+ aircraft. The operation is 24/7 and requires MCC, IFR and NVIS skillsets to successfully conduct your role.
With access to the camp facilities, you will find yourself with your own room and ensuite, with access to extensive amenities including; recreation and cinema rooms, sauna, pool, tennis/basketball and squash courts, a daily fitness class as well as three gyms (cardio, weights and general purpose/stretching/boxing). All meals are supplied.
This role begins as a casual however you are able to transition into an Individual Flexibility Agreement (IFA) after a 3-month period, offering long-term stability and structure.
Base of operations is the Cooper Basin, Moomba Airport. Company arranged direct flights are available from Brisbane and Adelaide.
Operate EC135P2+ helicopter under the VFR, IFR and NVIS conditions as Captain
Typical roster periods of 15 days on 13 days off
Self-manage daily duties and rest periods to maintain a 24 hour standby roster in accordance with CAO 48.1 / Aerotech Helicopters FRMS
Implement, review, update and contribute to company SOP’s to facilitate continuous improvement of the operation
Actively participate in the Safety Management System
Conduct secondary duties as allocated by the Base Manager or Contract Manager from time to time
Strive to ensure customer satisfaction and high standards of service are maintained
Aerotech will provide support to achieve the required competency standards for the right applicant.
Skills and Experience
Preference will be given to candidates who meet IOGP 590 minimum requirements
EC135 Type Rating or experience on similar complexity aircraft
Total hours helicopter experience: 2000 hours
Total hours in command helicopters: 1000
Multi engine experience: 500 PIC
Hours on EC135: 100
NVIS rating (preferred however training can be provided to the right applicant)
Instrument Rating with MEH endorsement
