Commercial Helicopter Pilot - Christchurch - 6 month Fixed Term


6-MONTH FIXED TERM POSITION AS COMMERCIAL HELICOPTER PILOT

GCH Aviation, owner/operators of Garden City Helicopters, the Nelson Marlborough and Canterbury West Coast Rescue Helicopters, Coastwide Helicopters, Tasman Helicopters, the NZ Flying Doctors service, The GCH Jet Centre (FBO), Kaikoura Helicopters, Wellington Helicopters, Vanuatu Helicopters and Pacific Island Air are looking for an experienced commercial pilot to join our team for a Fixed Term period of 6 months in our state of the art aviation facilities at our Christchurch Base, 73 Grays Road, Christchurch Airport.

GCH Aviation is family owned and there is lots of opportunity to be involved within the greater organisation and contribute in your own areas of interest. The work our people do is high-risk, safety is everything and we are the only NZ Helicopter Operators to have the NZHA Diamond Safety Award to support this, keeping our people and those we work with safe is imperative so you must see safety as a priority every day you come to work.

The successful applicant will need to be willing to travel to cover commercial operations at any of our GCHA Bases and be flexible enough to work a varying roster covering weekends and public holidays. You will enjoy working as part of a team, have high standards of customer service and have a great sense of humour.

Ideally we are looking for a pilot with;

  • a NZCAA Commercial Pilots Licence (H)

  • at least 750 hours total time

  • a B Cat or C Cat Instructors Rating out of direct supervision

  • Ratings in AS350/EC130/Cabri or similar multi engine types.

  • a Night rating

  • experience flying commercial helicopter operations and a willingness/experience to also complete passenger work, scenic flights, trial flights etc.

  • a valid NZ CAA Class 1 medical certificate and who is fit and healthy in order to meet the demands of the job.

  • willingness to work shiftwork in accordance with the Company Flight & Duty and Fatigue Management Schemes including on Public Holidays and weekends.

  • a willingness to support ground operations by assisting with duties such as movement of fuel and people, hangar and aircraft cleanliness, role equipment movement and assistance and general ground assistance for commercial helicopter operations.

  • Dangerous Goods Licence endorsement both road and air

  • CRM

All applicants must be entitled to work in New Zealand and able to pass the NZCAA/ Aviation security security vetting in order to obtain an Airport Identity Card.

Remuneration will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant based on skills & experience in line with our Company matrix.
