Role Overview


CAE Australia is seeking a suitably qualified Aviation Warfare Officer (AvWO) to support the MH-60R training system at HMAS Albatross in Nowra. 


Roles & Responsibilities 


  • Delivery of formative tactical instruction based on contemporary tactics, techniques and procedures to pilot, AvWO, sensor operator trainees and operational crews in MH-60R training devices. This includes briefing, debriefing and generation of sortie reports.

  • Delivery of tactical ground-school based on contemporary tactics, techniques and procedures to pilot, AvWO and sensor operator trainees utilising existing courseware via Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) and Instructor Guided Reviews (IGR).

  • Assist in the development and improvement of mission scenarios for improved delivery of training outcomes.

  • Assist in the ongoing testing and certification of MH-60R training devices, including new or modified systems, system configuration upgrades and engineering change proposals (ECP).

  • Assist in the review of the relevant training course control documents (Curriculum).


Our Ideal Candidate has:


  • Proven instructional experience in an aircrew training environment (Recent experience as an MH-60R Instructor or Evaluator desired).

  • A minimum of 500 hours military flying for AvWO.

  • Previous anti-submarine and surface warfare experience.

  • Previous simulator instructing experience on military rotary wing platforms.

  • Previous airborne dipping sonar experience

Security requirements 


As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
