Glacier Country Helicopters Ltd, is seeking an experienced helicopter pilot to join our team.

The position is for a line pilot, based in Franz Josef for our tourism season. Start and finish dates between September 2024 and April 2025 are negotiable. Applications from contract pilots and those seeking full time permanent positions will also be considered and may be available to the right applicants.

We require a friendly, professional, and experienced pilot to join our family and owned operated business. We are a tight knit company and the right person to fit in with our team is a big factor. Accommodation is available in one our staff homes.

We operate four helicopters (AS350B2, EC120 and MD520N) on our scenic flights over the local glaciers with snow landings in the Southern Alps.

The position requires:

NZ CPL (H) and current Class 1 medical

Civil Aviation Fit & Proper Person acceptability

Minimum 1000 hours rotary

Minimum 500 hours turbine

Mountain flying experience.

Nil accidents incidents or violations in last 5 years

You have to be a New Zealand resident or have a New Zealand work visa. We are unable to sponsor.

We are a remote area on the West Coast located 5 hours’ drive from both Christchurch and Queenstown but if you are happy living in a small town without a McDonalds and enjoy the outdoors, you’ll find a lot do here with great fishing, hunting and hiking in our beautiful National Park.
