Each and every employee at LifeFlight saves lives every day. You will play a key part of ensuring our ongoing success and growth by conducting Pilot training and checking.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Training & Checking Pilot with exceptional interpersonal skills, who is highly reliable and thrives in a team environment. This is a full-time role located in Brisbane based at the LifeFlight Training Academy.

The role will include conducting pilot training and checking for our Pilots and the supervision and maintenance of flight standards along with line flying for coverage e.g. to cover leave.

Pay and conditions are in accordance with the LifeFlight Australia Limited and Rotary Wing Pilots Certified Agreement 2016-2019.

About You

You should have the ability to take on new experiences with enthusiasm and be able to cope with responsibility and pressure, while maintaining a strong commitment and adherence to flight safety and operating standards.

To be eligible you must have the following:

Selection Criteria:

Essential Criteria

  • ATPL (H)

  • CIR ME with minimum 3 renewals (IPCs)

  • NVFR(H)

  • Previous Training and Checking experience, or demonstrated skills, knowledge and attitude required for an instructor

  • Check/FIR

  • NVIS/FIR

  • FER

  • NVIS FER

  • Minimum 3000 hours rotary wing

  • 1500 hours PIC rotary wing

  • 500 hours PIC ME turbine rotary wing

  • 100 hours Instrument Flight

  • 100 hours Night

  • Dangerous Goods Certificate

  • HUET/EBS Certified

  • Class 1 medical

  • Willing and able to travel to our other bases within Queensland as required

Desirable Criteria

  • Type Rating (AW139) with 100 hours on type

  • Previous EMS/SAR experience
