About the business and the role
Heartland Helicopters have been operating in the Gisborne region since 2009. We specialise in agriculture spraying, seeding and fertiliser application for farmers, forestry and horticulture users. We operate from wairoa to the east cape.
We currently operate 2 x R44, and are expanding to a 3 machine
Job tasks and responsibilities
Accurate Agrichemical application using TRACMAP GPS
Organising loader driver for jobs including timing, location and equipment needed.
Organise work with client
Ensuring everyone on your worksite is safe, and has been given a safety briefing by the ground crew or yourself. You are the PIC, all responsibility lies with you.
Helicopter Maintenance
Ensure 50 and 100 hour checks are done within required timeframes
Record role equipment removal/installation
Ensure the tech log is kept up to date
As the PIC you are responsible for reporting any problems on the helicopter and ensuring these are fixed within 50/100 hour check, unless the helicopter is deemed to be unsafe to fly.
Ensuring helicopter is cleaned to a high standard daily when used on spray jobs, and is free from chemical residue.
Skills and experience
Must hold:
Grade 1 Ag
Aerial Spraying rating
Aerial Topdressing rating
Robinson Safety Awareness Training
R44 rating
Chemical Rating
NZ Pilot Medical
Current 1st Aid
Have a minimum of 3000 TT hours with a minimum of 2000 AG hour
