Heliwest offers a broad range of helicopter services to a variety of industries including Mining, Industry, Government and Tourism. Tasking conducted includes remote area surveys, EMS, offshore, sling work, powerlines, agriculture, mosquito control and flight training.
The Heliwest flight training school has been operative for over two decades and provided career pathways for hundreds of student pilots, while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
Heliwest requires a Perth-based Senior Flight Instructor to join our Part 141 Training Organisation. This is a full-time permanent position supporting the Head of Operations, with the potential to additionally support Air transport and Aerial work operations.
The Senior Flight Instructor will lead a busy team conducting a wide range of flight training activities. You will work a regular roster that will include working one weekend-day per week.

Mandatory experience requirements:
Commercial Pilot Licence – Helicopter Category, or higher; and
Low Level rating
Flight Instructor Rating – Helicopter Category with the following training endorsements:
Helicopter Category Grade 1 Training endorsement
Low Level Training Endorsement
FIR Training Endorsement
The following qualifications are desirable:
Gas Turbine Training Endorsement
B206 and/or AS350 experience
Sling Operations endorsement
Flight Examiner rating
Duties and Responsibilities
A full job description will be provided to shortlisted candidates, however will include the following:-
Maintaining flight standards, the standardisation of flight sequences and Proficiency Checks;
Conducting flight training activities;
Monitoring student progress, and auditing of trainee records;
Development of training resources and Instructor Standards Manual;
Play an active role in promoting safety, and assisting on safety related issues;
Rostering of Flight Training Instructors;
Other tasks as directed by the HOO.
