About the role
PHI Aviation is seeking a dedicated Helicopter S92 Copilot to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our helicopter fleet, ensuring all flights are conducted in compliance with company policies and aviation regulations.
This position will be on a touring roster flying from any major capital in Australia.
Responsibilities of the role include:
Safety:
As part of the flight crew, ensure the operation and safety of the aircraft and all persons on board.
When necessary, draw the PIC’s attention to any matter which may have been overlooked.
Regulatory Compliance:
Observe all Regulatory and Client rules and regulations, and the relevant OEM RFM.
Follow Company directives and procedures during flight planning, pre-flight inspection, in-flight operations, and post-flight reporting.
Flight Planning and Communication:
Support the PIC with flight planning and establish/maintain communications with the responsible authority, as necessary.
Flight Operations:
Complete flights as scheduled in a safe and timely manner.
Engage with the PIC on decisions regarding flight cancellations, delays, or amendments and reporting such circumstances to the Senior Base Pilot or Base & Contract Manager.
Certification and Training:
Ensure all licenses, ratings, medical certificates, and proficiency requirements are current before undertaking any Air Transport flight activity.
Provide timely advice to the Training Department, Senior Base Pilot and Base & Contract Manager regarding the status of licenses, ratings, visa, medical certificates, or proficiency checks.
Ensure training or testing required to maintain certifications is assigned in a timely manner.
Crew Development:
Continually increase skill and knowledge in standard operating procedures.
Actively seek opportunities to learn from the PIC, including observing decision-making processes, understanding the rationale behind operational choices, and participating in debriefings.
Request feedback from the PIC on performance and areas for improvement and implement suggestions to enhance flying skills and operational knowledge.
Administrative Duties:
Undertake non-flying tasks such as paperwork, helicopter husbandry, and facility housekeeping as assigned by the Senior Base Pilot, Base & Contract Manager, or higher management.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
S92 type rating - essential
H175 type rating - desirable
500 hours total time in a helicopter
CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate
Offshore Experience
