HM Air is a local, family-owned aviation business with bases across the Northern Territory operating to BARS & IOGP 590 standards. We are a leading provider of utility services to pastoral, private, mining, oil & gas, government and emergency response throughout Northern Australia. Our rotary fleet includes AS350, B206L and R44 helicopters.

HM Air is looking for a committed Helicopter Pilot to join our dynamic turbine division with an immediate start. The role requires flexibility and working away from home base at short notice. Attractive salary package for the right candidate, commensurate with experience. Long term role with an opportunity for career development.


Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:


• Australian CPL(H)

• 2000 hours minimum Rotary Experience

• GTE with 100 hours on type (B06 or AS50) and insurance minimums to fly Turbine Aircraft

• Low Level Rating

• 500 hours experience in remote area and unimproved landing area operations

• ASIC

• Sound knowledge & understanding of CASA Regulations

• Excellent communication skills

• Self-motivated and able to prioritize conflicting tasks

• Strong customer service focus

• Business minded with a drive to success

• Desirable – Sling endorsement and fire rating

• The right to live and work in Australia


Duties and Responsibilities:


Day to day operations include acting as PIC in longline operations, bucketing/belly-tanking, aerial prescribed burning, aerial platform (shooting), air transport in mining and the oil and gas industry, Search and Rescue, Air-Transport, ground and aerial scientific surveys.


Additionally:


• Adhering to regulatory requirements and the Company’s safety and operational standards

• Being able to work on a roster away from home base for extended periods at a time on short notice

• Maintaining and presenting aircraft & self in a clean and tidy state

• Ensuring all role and mission critical equipment is serviceable and accessible

• Completing and submitting all required paperwork in a neat, comprehensive and timely manner

• Liaising with clients and operations regarding bookings, scheduling, quotes and any other operational changes that may affect the delivery or quality of service.

• Ensure compliance with loading procedures specified for the aircraft type and proper compilation of loading documents.

• Track Flight and duty times to assist operations in operational compliance and readiness
