The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a not-for-profit organisation providing world class aeromedical, search and rescue services to those in need 24/7. The Service has more than 40 years of proud history and now operates from three bases in NSW (Tamworth, Belmont, Lismore) in addition to a Head Office and deep level maintenance facility based in Broadmeadow NSW.
The Service is seeking to recruit an experienced Line Pilot to join our highly skilled team conducting helicopter aeromedical and search and rescue operations to the highest standard of safety and professionalism. Based in Belmont NSW, this role will report to the Chief Pilot and will operate on a 4:4 (2 day/2 night) roster pattern.
There is an expectation that the successful candidate live within 1 hour of the Belmont base and may be expected to travel to other bases across northern NSW from time to time to support the operational requirements of the Service. To be considered for this role, you will be an experienced Helicopter Pilot who is well regarded within the industry and by your peers and will demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
Essential:
CASA ATPL (H) & Current Class 1 Medical
2500Hrs Rotary Wing, 2000Hrs PIC Rotary Wing
Instrument Rated on multi engine helicopters
Low Level Rating with Winch endorsement
Helicopter command experience in a variety of operations
NVG and IFR
Whilst not essential, AW139 Endorsement, DG, HUET, EBS and HFNTS Qualifications and experience within an EMS/ SAR environment will be highly regarded.
To be successful in this role, you will be a team player with a demonstrated commitment to safety and the continuous improvement of operational process and procedures. This position is identified Category A/Category A - High Risk in accordance with NSW Health’s framework for the assessment, screening and vaccination of workers to minimise the risk of transmission of vaccine-preventable diseases. As such, it is an essential requirement of this position that you comply with the Service’s policies relating to Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases, including the provision of evidence of protection.
You will need to have the right to work in Australia and be prepared to complete a psychometric assessment, Working with Children Check and National Police History Check, if successful. A salary package will be determined in accordance with the Company’s Registered Enterprise Agreement.
