Meridian Helicopters operates EC135, AS350 and BO105 Helicopters from bases in Queensland and South Australia specialising in high quality safe power-line operations. Meridian Helicopters is seeking an experienced helicopter pilot for our Adelaide Base.

The primary task that the successful applicant will be required to conduct is emergency and programmed powerline inspection operations as part of a small team operating throughout South Australia. Flying operations will also extend to the full range powerline maintenance and construction work depending on the successful candidates existing experience and progress through the company’s training system. The position will be full time, Adelaide based, operating out of Parafield Airport. The EC135 helicopter is the primary type used for operations in South Australia. Whilst this is an Adelaide based position the successful applicant may be required to conduct flying tasks in other areas across the country from time to time.

Other pilot positions with Meridian Helicopters may become available later in the year

The minimum requirements are:

  • Commercial Helicopter Pilot’s Licence

  • Class 1 medical

  • 2 500 hours PIC RW

  • 250 hours PIC EC135

    • Consideration will be given to applicants that do not meet this requirement but do have significant flying experience in powerline operations


  • 250 hours PIC Squirrel

  • 100 hours Low Level Helicopter

  • Current ASIC

  • Current Alcohol and Other Drugs awareness training (DAMP)

  • Current Dangerous Goods Awareness certificate

  • Current Flying in the Wire Environment certificate

  • Current Crew Resource Management certificate

  • Current First Aid certificate

Desirable Attributes:

  • Sling endorsement

  • Long Line experience and proficiency

  • BO105 type rating

  • IT and administration skills
