Due to an internal promotion, Auriga Aviation is seeking a Head of Training and Checking to spearhead our training organisation, drive compliance and elevate operational standards during an exciting phase of growth.

Auriga Aviation has established itself as an industry leader in the provision of specialist Helicopter Marine Pilot Transfer (HMPT) services in Australia. Auriga Aviation operates a modern fleet of Airbus helicopters in the provision of services to the maritime industry, providing services to a diverse customer base across multiple locations throughout Australia.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As Head of Training and Checking, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing all training and checking programs nationally within Auriga Aviation. You will ensure our pilots and crew meet the highest operational and safety standards while maintaining full compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a strategic leadership role where you will develop training strategies, manage instructor teams, and work closely with senior management to align training with business growth and safety objectives.
LOCATION FLEXIBILITY
This role offers flexibility on location, with the potential to be based remotely (Australia only) depending on operational needs. However, if you’re open to relocating, we offer relocation assistance to Brisbane, where you’ll have the opportunity to be at the heart of our growing operation and work closely with key stakeholders.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Proven experience in a senior training role within aviation.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Expertise in regulatory compliance and training program development.
Passion for innovation, safety, and operational excellence.
An individual who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Mandatory Requirements/Qualifications:
Meet the requirements to be appointed as alternate HOTC and alternate under CASR Parts 119 and 141 respectively.
Strong working knowledge of CASA regulations as they relate to training in an Air Transport and Aerial Work Helicopter operations.
CPL or ATPL licence (Helicopter).
Multi-Engine Helicopter Instrument Rating (MEHIR).
Low Level (LL) Rating.
NVIS Rating.
Minimum of 2,500 hours total flight time (minimum 500 Multi Engine Command).
Flight Instructor Rating (FIR).
Desirable Experience/Attributes:
Helicopter Marine Pilot Transfer (HMPT) experience.
Type ratings on Airbus H135 and or H145 helicopters.
Flight Examiner Rating (FER).
Previous appointment as HOTC in a helicopter operation.
Experience with Air Maestro (or similar) aviation software.
Tertiary qualifications in business, project or aviation management.
