About the Role
The LifeFlight Training Academy is looking for an experienced training manager and suitably qualified aviation professional to join our flight operations team in the role of Head of Operations (HOO). The Head of Operations is based at LifeFlight Training Academy at Brisbane Airport and is responsible for the delivery of training and checking requirements, covered by LifeFlight Australia’s CASR 142 Certificate and the Operations Manual. The HOO is a valued member of our Leadership Team and will be involved in company lead initiatives and change improvement plans. To be considered for this role you will be a highly proficient Pilot who holds Helicopter Instructor and Examiner qualifications, with the ability to obtain a CASA Head of Operations. About You

Essential skills in this role include:
A CASA flight instructor rating with suitable training endorsements to instruct under the LifeFlight CASR 141/142 Flight Training Approval Certificate
Demonstrated performance in the Check & Training Pilot role
Current CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate
A current CASA Flight Examiner Rating
A CASA ATPL (H) helicopter pilot license
500 hours flight time on either the B412 or AW139
Evidence of having satisfactorily conducted or managed air operations conducted under an AOC for at least 6 months
Have sufficient safety and regulatory knowledge to enable the conduct of activities safely and in accordance with the Part 141/142 exposition and civil aviation legislation
Ability to pass a CASA flight and oral assessment for the position of Head of Operations. (This appointment is subject to obtaining CASA approval as the HOO)
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to facilitate training and encourage your team in skills development
Able to work effectively and productively while managing competing priorities
It would also be beneficial to hold:
Endorsement/Type Rating on AW139, Bell 412, BK117 and AS350 helicopters
A Helicopter Grade 1 training endorsement under CASR Part 61
In compliance with CASA Drug and Alcohol Management Plan requirements our preferred applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment testing and to participate in the LifeFlight Drug and Alcohol Management Program. About LifeFlight
