We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced pilots for the pivotal management and leadership position of Head of Flight Operations for our Australian Operations (HOFO – AS).
Reporting to the General Manager Australia and the Chief Pilot-International, the HOFO-AS will be responsible for the control and review of operational standards and practices standards and safety and regulatory compliance under the CASA AOC. Interested applicants must have significant experience in multi-engine IFR helicopters, extensive knowledge and experience in offshore helicopter operations together with operational management, leadership or supervisory experience.
Duties and key responsibilities; -
Liaison with the CASA on all regulatory matters except airworthiness
Provide advice on the selection and employment of flight crew.
Supervise flight crews and operations personnel directly and through the use of appropriate directives and notices as required to maintain and develop professional standards.
Manage the Heads of Checking and Training ensuring the maintenance of Company standards and the development of training programs satisfying continuous improvement objectives.
Authorises all amendments to the Australian Operations Manuals in conjunction with the standardisation of common practices across all Company Operations Manuals.
Ensure that crew scheduling complies with flight and duty regulations and Company fatigue management policies.
Review operational standards and practices through the management of flight-crew reports and the use of the Company FDM system.
Maintain digital records of licenses, ratings and other qualifications to facilitate the production of reports addressing expiry dates and necessary training requirements.
Maintain flying currency in Company helicopters to exercise CASA and Company approved pilot ratings as required.
We are seeking applicants with the following experience and qualifications; -
Essential Criteria - Interested applicants must have the following experience:
License: CASA ATPL (H) with Instrument Rating or ability to transfer a foreign ATPL
Extensive experience in either Offshore or Marine Pilot Transfer operations
Type Rating: Type Rated on one of: S92, AW139, A109
3000 hours total helicopter time including 1500 hours multi-engine (helicopter)
1500 hours command (helicopter)
1200 hours multi-crew (helicopter)
Extensive knowledge of CASA regulatory environment
Have the legal right to live and work in Australia.
Additional Desirable Criteria (One or more of the following are desirable but not essential):
Flight Instructor Rating: CASA FIR with Type Rating training endorsement on one of: S92, AW139, A109
Flight Examiner Rating: CASA FER
All Weather SAR and NVIS experience
Current or previous employment with PHI International, HNZ New Zealand or HNZ Australia.
Previous aviation management experience
