Fire Pilots Required-Victoria

Forest Air Helicopters are looking for contract pilots to fill positions that have become available for the up coming fire season in Victoria. Please communicate via email.

Position detail:

To crew fire response aircraft contracted by the Victorian government for the 2021/2022 fire season. Aircrew are required to be on 15 minute standby for fire response as required throughout the state of Victoria.

Contracts typically run for 90-120 days depending on government requirements. Primary duties for aircrew are to be utilised as fire bombing aircraft with bucket and long-line and or tank and may also be required to be utilised as a platform for aerial incendiary (burning) and air attack.

Pilot Minimums:

PIC Total Time:1500hrs

Turbine: 500hrs

AS350: 100hrs

Fire: 50hrs

Class 1 medical

Fire fighting endorsement

Low level endorsement

On Arena

Dangerous Goods

Crew resource management certificate

Helicopter underwater escape training

Bush Fire Awareness course

Flying in the wire environment course

Desirable and preference for those with the following:

Previous experience operating for Victorian fire agencies

Aerial incendiary experience

Longline bucket experience

Tanking experience

Bell 212/412: 100+hrs

Bell 205/204/UH1: 100+hrs

Long-line: 500+hrs

Fire: 500+hrs

Contract rates will depend on experience and will be negotiated with preferred candidates for the position.
