Head of Flight Operations (HOFO): Location: Hobart Rotor-Lift is seeking an experienced suitably qualified aviation professional to join our senior management team in the role of Head of Flight Operations (HOFO). Rotor-Lift provides outstanding helicopter services that enable our customers to reach beyond - working in remote and challenging destinations. About the Role The HOFO reports to the Chief Executive Officer, including working in collaboration with the Leadership Team in ensuring business and overall management of Rotor-Lift’s Flight Operations and training. You will ensure that Rotor-Lift’s operations meet the safety and service delivery standards expected by regulators and internal and external customers. The role will maintain high standard of operational excellence, with a focus on promoting Just Culture that supports a continuous process of improvement. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive departmental efficiencies which include structure, cost management and work practices

  • Manage Rotor-Lift’s Flight standards

  • Mange safety conduct of flight operations and training

  • Lead the Safety and Quality team for Flight Data Monitoring and flight compliance programs and reviews.

  • Liaise with the Regulator and ensure Rotor-Lift compliance with all appropriate rules and CASA regulations.

  • Adhere to all SMS accountabilities as determined in Rotor-Lift’s Safety Management Manual

  • Police Approvals

Skills and Experience Mandatory

  • CPL (H) with experience as SAR/EMS pilot or as an Offshore Pilot

  • Be able to meet CASA requirements for CASA Head of Flying Operations

  • A Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating with 3 renewals

  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to mentor and drive team performance

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels and manage client relationships

  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written

  • Demonstrable experience with operational, commercial and budget planning process to support business objectives

  • Knowledge and/or experience in safety, quality assurance and risk management system

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple demands, in a high volume, rapidly changing environment

Desirable Experience

  • ATPL (H) desirable

  • NVIS

  • Post Graduate qualifications in Management or similar is advantageous

  • Rated on BK117

  • Instructor Rating with night and instrument training approvals and NVIS

  • Flight Examiner Rating

  • Previous experience as Head of Flying Operations or similar
