We also deploy medical professionals and aircraft in support of defence, government and commercial contracts, and energy and resource sector sites.


The role


We currently have a rare opportunity for an experienced Rotary Wing Pilot to join our dedicated CareFlight Rapid Response Helicopter team, providing one of the worlds most advanced aeromedical service with the ability to be airborne and on the way to trauma incidents within three minutes of being called, resulting in the severely ill or injured patient receiving hospital level care as quickly as possible.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Conducting all flight operations to the highest industry standards of safety and professionalism.

  • Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the company Operations Manual, Aircraft Flight Manual and all legislative requirements.

  • Working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.


About you


Essential (Technical)


The following minimums must be logged in the pilot’s personal flying logbook:

  • 2500 hours total time.

  • 2000 hours PIC helicopter.

  • 1500 hours PIC turbine.

  • 500 hours multi-engine helicopter.

  • 100 hours IFR including SPIFR.

  • 100 hours NVIS.

  • 50 hours Helicopter Emergency Medical Service/Search and Rescue operations.

  • 100 hours on H145 (BK117-D2).

  • 100 hours PIC in the last 12 months.

  • Current HUET Certificate.


Essential (Non-Technical)


  • The right to live and work in Australia.

  • Demonstrated experience working in small specialist teams.

  • Demonstrated understanding of and competency with CRM, Risk Management and Safety Management Systems.

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to take on non-flying related secondary duties; and

  • Demonstrated systems competencies with Excel and iPad flight planning software (e.g. OzRunways).
