Overview
A prestigious luxury discovery yacht is seeking an experienced Senior Helicopter Pilot to manage and operate two Airbus H130 helicopters in support of worldwide expedition and guest operations. This role combines elite aviation standards with high-end yachting, operating in some of the most remote and environmentally challenging regions on Earth.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional airmanship, leadership, and adaptability, with proven experience in maritime and expedition-style helicopter operations.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Pilot-in-Command for Airbus H130 operations from a yacht-based helideck
Conduct passenger transport, scenic flights, reconnaissance, logistics, and expedition support
Operate safely in remote, polar, mountainous, and maritime environments
Manage helicopter operations across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks
Ensure compliance with aviation authorities (CASA, FAA, EASA, TC, etc.)
Oversee aircraft maintenance coordination with engineers
Lead flight planning, risk assessments, weather analysis, and fuel management
Maintain meticulous operational, technical, and safety documentation
Uphold the highest standards of guest experience, discretion, and professionalism
Mentor or supervise secondary pilots when required
Required Qualifications & Experience
Valid ATPL(H) or CPL(H)
Airbus H130 type rating with a minimum of 100 hrs
Minimum 3,000–4,000 total helicopter flight hours (flexible for exceptional candidates)
Demonstrated experience in:
- Maritime / shipborne helicopter operations
- Remote and expedition flying
- Cold weather and/or polar operations (highly desirable)
Proven offshore deck landing experience
Strong CRM, decision-making, and leadership skills
Valid Class 1 Medical
Highly Desirable
Previous yacht or superyacht aviation experience
Experience operating in Antarctica or Arctic regions
Instructor or examiner rating
