Our diverse helicopter fleet includes the BK117 C-1, AS355, H130, H125, Bell 206 and R44. Through our sister company Aerostar, we also operate piston and turboprop fixed-wing aircraft.
The Role
Helistar Aviation is seeking experienced low-level helicopter pilots for South Australian operations based at Adelaide Airport.
This is a seasonal contract position commencing early May through to the end of October, conducting low-level powerline distribution network patrols on behalf of our contract partner SA Power Networks (SAPN).
The flying is varied and technically engaging, involving extensive very low-level operations across the SAPN network, covering areas from Ceduna to the Victorian border.
Most operations require time away from base, with comfortable, non-sharing accommodation provided. FIFO arrangements may be available for suitable candidates.
Essential Requirements
Right to live and work in Australia
Current CASA qualifications
CPL(H) with minimum 1,500 hours helicopter PIC
Low Level Rating (Helicopter) with a minimum of 100 hours conducting Part 138 low-level operations
Class 1 Aviation Medical
Bell 206 – minimum 100 hours
Nil accident history within the previous 5 years
High level written and verbal communication skills
Current Driver’s Licence
Desirable (Training Can Be Provided)
100 hours powerline patrol or wire-environment experience
AS350 experience
HUET
Dangerous Goods Awareness Certificate
Remuneration
Remuneration will be discussed with shortlisted candidates and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
