Hevilift Aviation Limited is the leading charter service company, provider of chartered fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft in Papua New Guinea. Our company is looking for experienced and qualified Deputy Rotary Wing Chief Pilot on equal touring position. The incumbent reports to the Chief Pilot with a direct reporting responsibility to the Accountable Manager while on tour, and will be responsible for the direction and control of the Rotary Wing Department for all aircraft operations in accordance with CASA PNG Rules, OGP guidelines and BARS requirements. Flights, meals, and accommodation will be provided.
The ideal candidate will be assessed against the following essential requirements:
The Deputy Chief Pilot – R/W is directly responsible to the CEO during their tour, for the conduct of their rotary wing air operations, including the flight operations and supporting ground operations of their fleets in accordance with the requirements of CAR 119.51(b) and in line with the Company Exposition Management and Policy Manual.
To maintain currency as back up pilot as needed to facilitate the effectiveness of the flying programme.
Ensure all flying operations are conducted in accordance with applicable Air Legislation and Company Operations Manuals and in accordance with company’s licences, approvals, exemptions and other manuals.
Maintain a system of flight crew administration and in particular a workable system of record keeping and rostering to facilitate crew flight and duty time limitations and to enable monitoring of flight crew qualifications, licensing, recency and limitations.
Establish and/or oversee a system of check and training for company pilots, air crew and appropriate ground staff to include checking of pilot proficiency in normal and emergency procedures on each aircraft operated, and the provision of crew emergency training and dangerous goods awareness training.
Liaise with applicable authorities on relevant matters concerning the Companies operations.
Visit remote operations on a regular or required basis.
Receive verbal or written weekly reports on all operational matters from Lead Pilots.
Provide weekly and monthly operational reports to company CEO.
Maintain, monitor and respond to applicable safety notices, reports, incidents and/or allegations pertaining to flight operations.
Liaise with the engineering department to ensure company aircraft are maintained in accordance with company policy.
Job Requirements :
Significant flying experience (5,000 hrs +);
Endorsements on at least one helicopter types within our fleet (preferably 2+);
Previous management, Check and Training and/or CRM experience;
IFR-Rated with relevant experience;
Capable of leading a team to continually increase the level of professionalism and safety;
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of risk assessment and risk management;
