GCH Aviation, owner/operators of Wellington Helicopters, are looking for an experienced Commercial Helicopter Pilot to join our small team based on Queens Wharf in central Wellington.
GCH Aviation also operates the Nelson Marlborough and Canterbury West Coast Rescue Helicopters, the New Zealand Flying Doctors Service, the GCH Jet Centre (FBO) & Jet Operations, Kaikoura Helicopters and Coastwide Helicopters.

At GCH Aviation, every member of the team contributes to the wider operation, so our pilots are expected to be hands-on and willing to assist wherever required to ensure the smooth and safe running of operations.
This includes being willing and available to travel and work at any GCH Aviation base when required.
Remuneration will be discussed with the successful applicant and will reflect skills and experience in line with the company remuneration matrix.

We are looking for a helicopter pilot with:
A current NZCAA Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter)
Minimum 1000 hours PIC helicopter time preferred
Experience in, or willingness to undertake, passenger work and scenic flights
Willingness to assist in office, sales and ground support duties
BK117 and/or EC130 ratings preferred
External load experience preferred (200 hours+)
A high level of physical fitness and good health to meet operational demands
A valid NZCAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
Strong customer service skills, team focus and flexibility
The ability to pass NZCAA, Aviation Security and Police vetting checks
Willingness to work shift work across a seven-day roster in accordance with the Company Flight & Duty and Fatigue Management Schemes, including weekends and Public Holidays.
Advantageous experience includes:
HUET certification
Overwater flying experience
Firefighting, powerline, exploration and drilling experience
Multi-engine helicopter experience
