Helicopter Pilot-Solomon Islands


Toll Remote Logistics provides support to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) for the RAMSI Mission in the Solomon Islands. We are seeking a Line Pilot to become an integral member of the Solomon Islands team. This will be a fixed term position, with potential to move onto Toll's NSW / ACT HEMS operation in 2017. The Role

The Line Pilot reports to the Senior Base Manager and is required to perform the role of PIC and Co-Pilot. The PIC is responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft during flight time and for the safety of persons and cargo on board and for the conduct and safety of the members of the crew.

You will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • effective high quality Crew Resource Management

  • constant and effective interaction between aircrew engineers & support staff

  • accountability of all company flight operational and administrative documentation as required.

  • compliance with company safety and statutory procedures and requirements

  • extensive knowledge of CASA regulatory rules, procedures and processes

  • unblemished, extensive operational aviation background

  • honesty & integrity.

  • excellent communication skills.

  • flexibility & responsiveness. Innovation, resourcefulness & lateral thinking.

  • the ability to work with minimal supervision and perform all tasks with emphasis on duty of care to self and all other employees, visitors and the public

Essential Key Requirements

  • Appropriate endorsement and ratings to act as a PIC of all operations authorised in Solomon Islands.

  • Air Transport Pilot Licence (Helicopter) (ATPL[H])

  • 2,000 hours rotary time minimum

  • 1,000 hours total Pilot in Command (PIC)

  • 500 hours multi-engine, PIC turbine

  • 100 hours as PIC on type Bell 412

  • Current Command Instrument Rating (CIR) with at least one (1) renewal

  • Current NVES endorsement and 50 hours of NVES time

  • Minimum of 15 logged winching cycles inclusive of five (5) each day, night and wet cycles

  • Current Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) qualification

  • Dangerous Goods certificate

  • Sling load experience- minimum of 10 hours

  • St John's Ambulance First Aid Qualification (E)

  • Cockpit Resource Management (CRM) certificate
